COMPRESSOR OILS EXPLAINED!
Using the correct oil is essential! There are no short cuts. This is because if you fill the vehicle with the wrong grade or type of oil it could lead to catastrophic failure. This is a particular issue with electric and hybrid vehicles that use an electric driven compressor.
PROFESSIONAL (PROFI) OILS
We would always recommend using the correct oil as specified by the vehicle or compressor manufacturer. WAECO professional (Profi) canister oils are recommended by vehicle manufacturers as the correct oil for their automotive air-conditioning systems.
SEALED CANISTERS
Profi oils are all sealed with a patented system that doesn’t allow moisture to enter. The oil is there to lubricate the compressor, the mechanical components and the O-rings in the air-conditioning circuit.
All Waeco machines supplied by Vehvac use the Profi oil system.
AVOID MOISTURE DAMAGE
Moisture will rapidly degrade the oil, as it is highly hydroscopic. The Profi oil seal system also keeps everything clean and means that there is no waste.
Which oil for which A/C compressor? Always make sure you use the right type!
OIL TYPES
A simple rule from our A/C professionals: If there is PAG oil in the system, recharge with PAG oil (Polyalkylene Glycol oil), if it’s POE oil (Polyol Ester oil), fill up with POE oil. PAO oil (Polyalphaolefin oil) is a less common third type of oil.
CHECK TWICE, FILL ONCE
To find out which type of oil is flowing through the cooling circuit, refer to the vehicle documents or the service sticker of the A/C system. In case of doubt always check twice and identify the right viscosity! When available use the ISO number to determine the correct viscosity.

Double-wall storage can – can-design and function
Bag-in-bottle canister system
The hallmark of this canister is its double-wall design, which complies with the specifications of the automotive industry in an ideal manner.
Outside: protective metal canister
The sturdy, pressure-free metal canister protects the laminated bag inside. Pressure compensation for shrinking contents is via a small opening on the top.
Inside: moisture-free laminated bag
The double-layer aluminium laminated bag provides optimal storage for compressor oils or UV dyes. The special charging process as well as the storage in the laminated bag guarantees moisture-free conditions
Loss-free discharge
The storage bottle is connected to the ASC service unit (on the oil scales port) with a special adapter. This adapter releases the special extraction mechanism of the bottle. The vacuum pump generates a vacuum to discharge the laminated bag, which increasingly contracts in the process. An axially aligned spiral hose ensures complete discharging of the laminated bag.
